The library holds a small collection of textbooks and other items placed on Reserve by the TCC Faculty. Current students may check out one item at a time for one hour of in-library use.  A valid TCC ID card is required. Students that keep reserves items past the time due will lose their ability to use items from this collection.

InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

Materials not available at the TCC Library may be requested from other libraries:

  • First, check UBorrow for fastest delivery of items available from other libraries in the Florida College System. Locate the desired item and click on the UBorrow logo small logo to complete your request.

  • If you do not find your item in UBorrow, complete and submit an InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Request. Note: current textbooks will not be requested.

Using other Libraries (Reciprocal Borrowing)

Current students and staff of any public college or university are eligible to use selected resources at any other public college or university library through our statewide reciprocal borrowing agreement. These privileges often include the ability to check out books and select other materials and use the library facility for studying.

Locally, this means that TCC students may use the libraries at

Students must show their TCC ID card with a current semester sticker to utilize these services.  Materials checked out are subject to local rules regarding check out period and overdue fees.

Laptops & Computer Accessories

You can check out laptops, headphones, phone chargers, or USB flash drives for use in the library.

Research Consultations

Research Consultation Request form

What is a Research Consultation?

Research Consultations are scheduled appointments with a reference librarian for individualized, uninterrupted, one-on-one assistance with library research. Consultations are available to all TCC students, faculty and staff.

What will a research consultation include?

It will include a conversation about your research needs or assignment and what sources will best meet your needs. We will teach you how to search for and locate books, e-books, and articles available in our subscription databases and other information sources as needed. Research consultations can also provide assistance with evaluating information and using citation styles (MLA, APA, Turabian). We can sometimes provide clarification for assignments but we recommend that you contact your professor first.

Why is this different from the help received at the reference desk?

Research consultations provide uninterrupted time with a reference librarian, where individual research need is the focus. While assistance getting started in research is always available at the reference desk, it isn't usually possible for the librarian to spend uninterrupted blocks of time with individuals.

How long does the research consultation last?

Consultation sessions usually last from 30 minutes to 1 hour. If needed, a follow-up appointment may be scheduled.

When are research consultation appointments available?

Appointments will be scheduled during regular Library hours.

How do I request a research consultation?

Complete and submit the Research Consultation Request form.

Following the submission of your request, a librarian will contact you to finalize your appointment time the next business day. If you have not been contacted within that time, please call the Reference Desk on the second floor of the main campus Library: (850) 201-8383
