Your TCC Orientation Experience

Thank you for making Tallahassee Community College your college of choice!

As a First Time In College Student or a  Transfer Student at TCC, you are bound to have questions about your TCC experience. That's why our orientation is designed to help you get answers, as well as provide you with information about our campus resources, programs and services available to you.  You will only need to complete ONE orientation experience as a First Time in College Student or as a Transfer Student to TCC. 


Orientations are primarily held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with four appointment slots daily. As we are unable to accept walk-in appointments, make sure to schedule an appointment ahead of time.

Students Entering TCC Summer 2018

Students Who Graduated Prior to Spring 2018 can register beginning March 26, 2018.

Students Who Will Be Graduating Spring 2018 - Before you can register for classes, You MUST:

  • Schedule a Mandatory Advising Meeting dated AFTER high school graduation and bring an unofficial or official (i.e., sealed and unopened) high school transcript showing graduation date.
  • Register for a June Express Orientation between June 18-22, 2018 to start for the June Express term on June 26. Note: High school graduation or a GED is required to enroll at TCC. So May Main/Express sessions are not available to students graduating Spring 2018 because they begin before high school graduations. 

Students Entering TCC Fall 2018

To get started with TCC Orientation, complete the easy two-step process below.

 

1. Register for Orientation

When you schedule your mandatory on-campus advising appointment, you will gain automatic access to the Online Orientation course in Canvas. Please allow 60 minutes from the time you register for the course to appear. You will need your Student ID and PIN to begin.

2. Complete Online Orientation in Canvas

Online Orientation, located on Canvas, will take approximately one to two hours to complete. In order to pass, you must receive a grade of 100. You will need your TCC eAccount Username and Password to begin. Once you've completed the online orientation class; make sure to attend your scheduled mandatory on-campus appointment.

What You Should Know

New student orientation must be completed for both First-Time-In-College (FTIC) and Transfer Students.

Note, Transient students, non-degree seeking students, and returning students are not required to complete Orientation.  These students after completing any required Admissions Paperwork, may come to the Advising Center (Student Union, second floor) for advising Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person advising, if needed.

About Registration

Please know your login information. You will need it to register and complete orientation.

After registering for the On-Campus Advising Appointment, the online orientation course will be available on Canvas within 15 minutes.

About Your On-Campus Advising Appointment

During this appointment, you will meet with an academic advisor who will review your printed online assignments and assist with first semester course registration.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your On-campus appointment, and allow 2-3 hours for new student orientation.

What You Should Bring

 Things you should bring with you to Orientation include:

Your 8-digit student ID number.
Copies of unofficial transcripts; high school and/or college (if a transfer student)
ACT and SAT scores
Driver's License or some form of ID.
Variable clothing for climate-controlled rooms. Some buildings and lecture halls will have room temperatures that cannot be adjusted or controlled.
Snacks.
Umbrella in case of rain.
Water bottle to fill up with water in case you get thirsty.
Money if you want to purchase any snacks or cold drinks, or want to shop at the TCC Bookstore after Orientation.
