Green Cleaning
Green Cleaning is defined as cleaning to protect health without harming the environment. Students will learn that Green Cleaning goes beyond chemical and equipment choices. It includes policies, procedures, training, and shared responsibility efforts to minimize the impact of cleaning materials on the health of building occupants and the environment as a whole. With newer technologies and processes, green cleaning products have improved to clean more effectively, efficiently and with less impact on human health and the environment. In addition, learn how green cleaning can contribute to meeting the requirements of various green building certification systems.
Weatherization - Entry Level Installer
This 100 hour entry level course is for weatherization installers. Students will learn and demonstrate the following competencies: construction math (adding, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, fractions, decimals and reading a ruler); thermal and moisture protection (includes insulation, weather stripping, caulking); attic ventilation; windows and exterior doors; window, door and floor trim; solar screens, drywall installation and finishing; serving fixtures, valves and faucets (including hot water heater insulation wrap); basic energy lighting; and reflecting coating for manufactured homes.
