About the Career Pathways Program

The Career Pathways Program at TCC assists students enrolled in the GED® Prep and Learn English (ESOL) Programs (Adult Education). The Program can assist you with finding the training and support services so that you can secure a job in a demand industry or occupation. The Program can also help you transition from the Adult Education Program to college or job training programs.

Student Services

As a current TCC student in the Adult Education Program, you can take advantage of a variety of services:

  • Assessments - discover what careers match with your skills and interests
  • Exploration - explore the variety of careers that are available and in demand in the region
  • Counseling - get connected with community support serviecs 
  • Planning - plan the steps needed to achieve your career goals
  • Transition - receive assistance with transition to the next step, whether that is enrolling in a degree program at TCC or finding a job

Integrated Education & Training Program

Don't wait until you to finish the GED® or English classes! Why not start a career training program at the same time?

The Integrated Education and Training (IET) Program allows qualified TCC students to concurrently enroll in GED® Prep or Learn English (ESOL) classes at the same time as a Post-Secondary Adult Vocational Certificate (PSAV) Program. 

 

Available Career & Technical Certificate (CTC) Programs

Applied Cybersecurity

This technical certificate program will be geared to prepare students for further education and cyber security-related careers in the Information Technology career cluster. Upon successful completion students will be able to sit for the industry recognized CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

Commercial Vehicle Driving

This certificate program will be geared to prepare students to obtain a high demand licensure to be used within the trucking and logistics industry. Upon successful completion students will be able to take the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Class ‘A’ Licensure Exam.

Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology

This certificate program's purpose is to prepare students to enter employment in the HVAC field or, for those already in the HVAC field, to continue their education. Students will be trained to become HVAC helpers, mechanic assistants, mechanics or technicians and will explore the various career options to determine what exit point best fits their needs.

Industrial Machinery Maintenance (IMM)

This certificate program's purpose is to prepare students with skills needed for classification as an industrial machinery mechanic and to prepare students for further education and careers in the manufacturing  career cluster. Includes all aspects of the industrial-machine maintenance technology industry and elements of the industry such as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues.

Machining Technology

This certificate program's purpose is to prepare students with the necessary skills to become machinists. The content includes all aspects of the machining industry, including planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health/safety/environmental issues
